This unique sanctuary is a wonderful place to wind down.

The Tapestry Room
A drawing room fit for Royalty
The grandest of Prestonfield's public rooms, the Baroque Tapestry Room was created by craftsmen working on the Palace of Holyroodhouse in 1687. Built to awe and impress, Scotland's most theatrical drawing room is still fit for Royalty.
You'll find comfortable sofas, board games, piles of books, and a roaring log fire among the ancient Mortlake tapestries, gilded antiques, and ancestral portraits. By day the perfect spot for afternoon tea, and by night, a magical room to enjoy after-dinner drinks.

The Leather Room
Step inside one of the most romantic drawing rooms
The Leather Room is named after the lavish panels of gilded 17th century leather from Cordoba, installed here as long ago as 1687 and recently restored. Originally the state bedchamber, it is now a romantic drawing room.

The Yellow Room
The Yellow Room takes its name from golden velvet walls, the perfect complement to a fire with historic black lacquer furniture including an impressively historic Chinese cabinet, which has been here since 1687

The Whisky Room
Enjoy a wee dram by the fire
The Whisky Room is hung with a rare collection of antique equestrian portraits. With quirky antler furniture, deep sofas, and even deeper glasses of very rare Malt Whisky are the order of the day in this clubbable retreat complete with a roaring log fire.

The Grounds
A sanctuary in any season
Steeped in history and set within 20 acres of gardens and historic parkland, Prestonfield is a retreat from the rhythm of city life. Take a stroll through the grounds and you’ll encounter our much-loved Highland cows, a stately free-roaming peacock, and our very own beehives—continuing a legacy of true country living.
